Portland police are increasing patrols and warning residents to lock their doors and windows because of a rash of burglaries in several neighborhoods. Burglars have broken into homes through unlocked doors and open windows and have cut screens, police say. The burglaries, in the Munjoy Hill area and residential area of Forest Avenue between Morrill’s Corner and Riverside Street, have occurred during all hours of the day and in some cases, the residents were home while they were robbed.
