Man found dead on Provincetown beach

A man in his 40s was found dead on a Provincetown beach Monday, but no foul play is suspected, said Michael Trudeau, first assistant district attorney for the Cape and Islands. Provincetown police received a report of a body at the beach at about 6:40 a.m. from a person taking a walk. The body was found near the Boatslip Resort on Commercial Street. The man was not a guest of the resort, according to a hotel manager. Provincetown police and State Police detectives are investigating the death, Trudeau said. The name of the man was not released, and an autopsy and toxicology report will be conducted by the state medical examiner’s office.
