A motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet was in serious condition after he drove into a retaining wall in the parking lot of a Peabody club Tuesday afternoon, State Police said. The motorcyclist, a 39-year-old Salem man, hit the wall in the parking lot of Cabaret Lounge on Route 1, around 4:30 p.m., Trooper Thomas Murphy said. The victim was taken by helicopter to Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Murphy said his injuries are serious and possibly life threatening.
