A teenager in Lakeville sustained serious injuries when a boat hit him while he was apparently wakeboarding, a sport similar to water skiing, on Long Pond Monday afternoon, a fire official said. The 18-year-old victim was flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with what police and fire officials described as a laceration. Lakeville police said the victim was awake and alert when authorities responded at approximately 2:15 p.m. Police Sergeant Sean Joyce said the victim was brought to shore by the boat before responders arrived. Lakeville police and Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating, police said.
