New Hampshire State Police are investigating a car crash on Route 202 in Barrington that killed two Maine residents late Saturday night. Police say that John Shaw, 48, of Barrington, was driving west on the highway around 11:30 p.m. when his Ford pick-up truck crossed the center line and struck the Ford Edge driven by Joel McLain, 77, of Biddeford, Maine. McLain died at the scene; his passenger, Maxine McLain, also 77 and of Biddeford, was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester where she died of her injuries, authorities said. Shaw was treated for serious injuries at Frisbie, police said. Troopers closed the roadway for four hours to investigate. Anyone with information should call State Police at 603-223-8490.
