Boston Police identify Mattapan shooting victim

Late Sunday night Boston Police released the name of the teenager shot and killed last week in Mattapan.

Walter White, 19, was shot at 502 Norfolk St., police said. White’s death was the city’s 33rd homicide of the year, police said. During the same period last year, there were 37 homicides.


According to police, officers arrived at the scene about 6 p.m. Thursday, responding to reports of a shooting.

Officers found White suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests had been made as of Sunday night.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call Boston Police detectives at 617-343-4470. Those who wish to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-494-8477 or text “TIP” to 27463.
