Suspect arrested in Hampton, N.H., slaying

A 70-year-old Hampton man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing a man in his Hampton, N.H., home, officials said today.

Peter Bartoloni is to be arraigned Tuesday in Seabrook District Court for the murder of Robert Roderick, 56, Attorney General Joseph A. Foster’s office said in a statement.

Roderick was found dead in his home at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. The cause of death was multiple blunt impact injuries to the head, the office said.

Police deemed the death suspicious Friday and declared it a homicide, the statement said.
