Springfield man facing arrest climbs onto roof

Springfield police arrested a man they said climbed onto his roof and refused to come down after officers went to arrest him in an alleged assault on his girlfriend. Officers were dispatched to Jorge Carrasquillo’s residence at about 9:10 p.m. Monday. Police Lieutenant Henry Gagnon said the suspect was coaxed down at about 11 p.m. and arrested. He is charged with attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon stemming from the alleged Oct. 3 beating. She sustained facial and arm injuries.
