Bald eagle shooting under investigation in Maine

Wildlife officials are investigating the shooting death of a bald eagle in central Maine. The Maine Warden Service said it is seeking the public’s help in determining who shot the eagle, which was found near Hermon Pond in Hermon earlier this week. It is illegal to shoot eagles. Maine Operation Game Thief, a nonprofit organization that works with the Warden Service, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the shooting. People with information are asked to call 800-ALERT-US.
