Roxbury man accused of jumping T gate, resisting arrest

A 32-year-old Roxbury man was arrested after allegedly “piggybacking” through an MBTA fare gate and fleeing from police officers who confronted him, MBTA Transit Police said.

Transit police said that about 8:45 p.m. Monday, Jesus Huertas evaded fares at the Massachusetts Avenue Orange Line stop by slipping through a gate behind a customer without paying himself.

Officers approached Huertas to issue a citation and discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest. Huertas pushed officers away and fled, Transit police said.

He was arrested and faces a charge of resisting arrest, Transit police said.
