At the annual North End elephant brunch held by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus Thursday morning, five Asian elephants saluted first responders from the Police Department, Fire Department, and emergency medical services, as well as members of the Army.

First responders and their families were invited to feed the elephants and were offered some paintings freshly penned by elephants trunks, according to a statement from the circus.

Also, the first responders were offered tickets to the circus show “Dragons’’ at TD Garden.
