Resort kicks off the ski season

Killington Resort in Vermont got the ski season off to an early start by opening several slopes to the public on Saturday. The ski resort, which began making snow on Tuesday, made a surprise opening for season-pass holders and staff on Thursday. It plans to open again Sunday, with lift tickets available for $49. Brittany Jones, a front desk agent at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel, said some parts of the open trails began to get icy Saturday afternoon, but that the conditions did not change the resort’s plans. “ ‘Beggars can’t be choosers,’ was what we said all day,” said Jones. “If you stayed to the sides, you were pretty good.”
