Two firefighters seriously injured in police dive team accident in Brewster

Two firefighters were seriously injured when a dive team truck struck them during a routine training exercise for Barnstable County rescue divers on Wednesday, Brewster police said. One of the victims, a 45-year-old male Brewster firefighter, was taken by MedFlight to Boston Medical Center, according to Brewster police Captain Heath Eldredge. The other male victim, a 45-year-old Dennis firefighter, was taken by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital from the scene near Sheep Pond in Brewster. Both firefighters sustained serious injuries that were not life-threatening, officials said. Additional details were not immediately available.
