Attleboro police arrest suspect, 19, after shooting

Attleboro police said a 19-year-old man was arrested after a seven-hour standoff that followed an overnight shooting. The Sun Chronicle reported that police said Richard Galiotte, of Attleboro, was arrested around 11 a.m. Friday hiding in the attic of a multifamily house. He is facing obstruction of justice and weapons charges. Police Chief Kyle Heagney said officers were alerted to shots fired at 4 a.m. and found a wounded man in his early 20s. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and is expected to recover. The suspect ran into the nearby house and did not respond to police who later brought in a State Police robot and search dog. Three people left the building before he was captured.
