Free vaccination clinics to be offered across R.I.

Rhode Island’s Department of Health is offering a series of free vaccinations clinics across the state for children and adults. The department said Monday that it will join with cities and towns over the next six weeks to offer vaccinations at 19 clinics. Available vaccines include influenza; Tdap, which protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis; and the vaccine that protects against pneumonia. Insurance is not required, but people who have coverage are asked to bring their insurance cards. The first clinic is scheduled for Tuesday in Westerly. Two more are being held Thursday in Glocester and Narragansett. The clinics will run through Dec. 14.
