A South End man told a state trooper that he was showing off for friends when he ran a red light early Sunday in East Boston, prompting a search of his vehicle that yielded drugs and a loaded, unlicensed firearm, officials said. Hector L. Delvalle, 29, allegedly ran a red light on Bennington Street, and the trooper searched his Honda Accord after learning that he had a suspended license and after Delvalle admitted there was a small amount of marijuana inside, said Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office. Delvalle pleaded not guilty Monday at his arraignment in East Boston District Court on weapons and drug charges, including carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
