Carver police tasered a Brockton man who allegedly tried to evade arrest after attempting to purchase medication with a fake prescription Wednesday. Police said that an officer responding to a call that someone was trying to use a falsified prescription confronted Jeffrey Jones, 42, at the pharmacy counter of a CVS on North Main Street, at which point Jones allegedly ran. The officer attempted to block Jones’s exit and tasered him when he continued to run, police said. Jones was able to escape, but was apprehended at a nearby Shaw’s supermarket, police said. He faces charges of uttering a false prescription, resisting arrest, and providing a false name.
