Police investigate body found near marina in East Boston

The body of a white male found Thursday morning in the waters off an East Boston marina is believed to have died accidentally, authorities said.

The man, estimated to be in his 50s, was discovered at 8:54 a.m. in the Chelsea River at the Boston Bay Marina on Condor Street.

The body had no obvious signs of trauma, according to a law enforcement official who asked not to be identified. Boston police detectives continued their investigation throughout the morning.
