R.I. Senate unveils workforce development plan

The leaders of the Rhode Island Senate are calling for a greater investment in job training and adult education to improve the state’s workforce. Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed and other top lawmakers unveiled their seven-point workforce development plan Tuesday. The plan would dedicate $1.2 million more to job training programs and set aside funds to eliminate a waiting list for adult education programs. The proposal also calls for greater investments in early childhood education.
