Man indicted in November killing

Hailton DaCosta, a 25-year-old New Bedford man, was indicted by a Bristol County grand jury on murder and other charges stemming from the Nov. 25 death of 31-year-old Sharone Stafford, prosectuors said Friday. DaCosta also was indicted on charges of armed assault with intent to rob and illegal possession of a firearm. Two other men, Elio Mendes, 21, and Samir Baptista, 27, are awaiting trial on charges related to the killing. On Nov. 25, police responding to reported gunshots found Stafford lying on Winsor Street near the intersection of Crapo Street. (AP)
