Tiverton churches offer drive-by ashes service

Several Tiverton churches are banding together to offer busy commuting Christians a chance to kick off Lent without getting out of their car. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will host Ashes to Go, a drive-by distribution of ashes for the faithful at the entrance to Grinnell’s Beach on Ash Wednesday. The Rev. John Higginbotham, priest in charge of Holy Trinity, will be joined by clergy from the Amicable Congregational Church and the First Old Stone Baptist Church. Higginbotham told The Herald News that the goal is to bring the church to the community.
