Williston Northampton School mourns teacher's unexpected death

A private school in Western Massachusetts is in mourning after the unexpected death of a popular young teacher and coach. Bob Hill, head of the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, said on the school’s Facebook page that Brian Crockett died in a hospital Tuesday of ‘‘medical complications.’’ He was 22. Crockett had checked into the hospital Sunday after not feeling well. Hill said that after joining the school staff last fall after his graduation from Colgate University, Crockett ‘‘quickly became a beloved colleague, teacher, coach, and friend.’’ A native of Passaic, N.J., Crockett played on the offensive line at Colgate and was named to the Patriot League All-Conference team in 2012.
