Refurbishing the Longfellow Bridge towers

1. A barge-mounted crane on the Charles River is moved into position at the Cambridge tower.

2. The granite blocks will be removed, loaded on a barge, and taken away for cleaning, storage, and repair.

3. After the Cambridge tower is removed, the tower on the Boston side will be removed.

4. The towers will be dismantled to the level of the sidewalk. The granite blocks below the level of the deck will be refurbished in their place.
