Lottery-winning sex offender arrested again

A level-three sex offender was arrested Friday at his Uxbridge home on multiple charges of sexually assaulting a child, police said Sunday. Daniel Snay, 62, had previously won $10 million from the lottery, which police say aided him in committing the crimes. Snay was charged as a repeat offender with indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 and other lesser offenses, police said. Authorities alleged Snay committed the crimes in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Police from all three states are assisting in the investigation. A spokeswoman for the Uxbridge Police Department said Sunday night that she could not elaborate on what role the lottery winnings played in Snay’s alleged crimes. He was held without bail and will be arraigned in Uxbridge District Court on Monday.
