State Senator Donald Williams, a Democrat and president pro tempore of the Connecticut Senate, has lost a bid for the president’s job at a community college near his hometown in northeastern Connecticut. The Board of Regents for Higher Education announced Friday that Carlee Drummer will be the new president of Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson. Drummer currently is an administrator at Oakton Community College in Illinois. Drummer and Williams were chosen as finalists for the Quinebaug job, which drew more than 90 applicants. On Friday, the regents also named James Lombella to lead Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield and Mary Ellen Jukoski to lead Three Rivers Community College in Norwich.
