Three men were taken to a Boston hospital with minor injuries early Saturday after the pickup truck they were riding in crashed into two Colonial homes in Winthrop, said Captain John Rich of the Winthrop Fire Department. At approximately 6:30 a.m., police and fire officials began investigating reports that a truck had crashed into two homes at 373 and 375 Pleasant St., Rich said. No arrests were made, and Rich said he did not know the cause of the crash. The truck plowed over a sidewalk near a sharp bend where Court Road and Pleasant Street intersect, according to Rich. The damaged truck “hit one house and then smashed into the second.” The three injured men are from Winthrop and in their early 20s, Rich said. Some of the residents in the damaged homes were inside at the time of the crash; none was injured.
