Power outage stops rides at Canobie Lake Park

Rides at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, N.H., came to a halt Friday afternoon when the area briefly lost power, park spokesman Chris Nicoli said. Power went out at 3:20 p.m., affecting the entire park, Nicoli said. Generators kicked on within minutes so that the rides could return to their starting positions and guests could get off. No one was injured. “It was just a hiccup in the day,” said Nicoli, who estimated that thousands were at the park. Power outages are not unusual, he said, and the rides all have procedures in place for when they do occur.
