The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education said Tuesday it will conduct a review of sexual assault response and prevention policies at public colleges and universities statewide in partnership with the state Department of Higher Education, according to a statement from the department.
Officials established a zero-tolerance policy for sexual violence on campuses at the board’s first meeting of the academic year, according to the statement.
Representatives from Massasoit Community College, Fitchburg State University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst spoke at that meeting about their handling of cases of alleged sex assault and ways to prevent such violence at schools, the statement said.
