A Middleton man died after a car fire in Danvers early Tuesday morning, officials said.
The fire was reported as a vehicle crash and explosion shortly after 3 a.m., said Danvers Police Lieutenant Robert Bettencourt. When firefighters arrived at the parking lot of the DoubleTree Hotel on Ferncroft Road, they found a car fire with no sign of a crash, Bettencourt said.
A 45-year-old man was pulled from the vehicle and flown to a Boston-area hospital, said Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett. He died en route to the hospital, she said.
No foul play is suspected, Kimball Monahan said.
