Rhode Island’s largest health system has opened a new psychiatric urgent care and outpatient center in East Greenwich. Lifespan said it is the area’s first walk-in urgent care center for mental health issues. Officials at Lifespan said Rhode Island is ranked among the highest nationwide for people with serious mental health issues and they want to make mental health services more accessible. Urgent care is available to adults, ages 18 and older. Services include onsite mental health assessment, access to crisis psychiatry as necessary, crisis stabilization, and family education and support. (AP)
