More snow is expected to hit the region Tuesday, starting in the early hours, forecasters said. Snow is expected to fall through the evening commute, accumulating to 1 to 2 inches in Boston, and 3 to 4 inches along the Cape. Lesser amounts are expected to the west of the Boston area.
Bill Simpson, a National Weather Service meteorologist, advised drivers to allow extra time for the morning and evening commutes Tuesday, as even light snowfall can create hazardous driving conditions given the pre-existing snow banks.
A storm could develop this weekend, but Simpson said it is too early to be sure.
This past weekend's storm made February 2015 the snowiest February on record in Boston, with 58.5 inches, the National Weather Service said. The previous record was 41.6 inches in 2003.
