A Gorham man who has a website advertising his side business of taking aerial photographs and videos from a drone has caught the attention of the Federal Aviation Administration. A local FAA manager told Steve Girard early this month that an investigator would contact him and want him to take down the website. But some legal experts say the FAA’s demand could be a violation of Girard’s right to free speech. A regional FAA spokesman told the Portland Press Herald that the agency will not allow any drone operation that poses a hazard to other aircraft or people and property on the ground. He also acknowledged that the FAA has no right to demand that Girard take down his website. (AP)
