Police arrested three teenagers in Revere on Thursday night after a fight broke out at the Spring Carnival, officials said.
An 18-year-old woman, a 17-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male were arrested around 10:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Showcase Cinemas on Squire Road, Revere Police Lieutenant Amy O'Hara said in an e-mail. The episode occurred just before the carnival was set to close at 11 p.m.
Only a few people were fighting, but a large crowd refused to comply with police requests to leave.
"It was almost to the point where the crowd may have got completely out of control," O'Hara said.
Police from neighboring towns were called to assist. The cause of the fight is not known.
The woman, Sinia Espino of Lynn, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
The 17-year-old male was charged with disorderly conduct, inciting a riot, and failure to disperse. The 16-year-male was charged with disturbing the peace, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
Police did not release the names of the males because they are juveniles.
Approximately 2,000 people were at the carnival, which runs from March 26 to April 19.
