Completing the 2015 Boston Marathon wasn't enough of a milestone for Daniel Koh. He crossed the finish line with Amy Sennett, then proposed to her.
Koh, who is chief of staff to Mayor Martin J. Walsh, had dropped some serious hints as the two ran toward the end of the race. A series of a dozen signs set up the big question for Koh, his girlfriend and a top official at Boston 2024.
The signs summarized the time they'd spent together in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, and Boston.
"You're the answer to all my questions," read the second-to-last placard.
"But I have one question left to ask," the final one said.
Koh asked, and Sennett said yes, according to the Twitter feed of Mayor Walsh.
Koh finished the race with a net time of 03:38:39. Sennett, who is vice president of international strategy and assistant general counsel for the group seeking to bring the 2024 Summer Games to Boston, clocked in with the same time.
