Flames burn through Ipswich brush

A two-alarm fire scorched three acres of land and destroyed an unoccupied construction trailer in Ipswich, fire officials said. The fire started just after 2 p.m. at the end of Paradise Road near a boat-storage facility, said Lieutenant Jeff French, and smoke could be seen from about two miles away. “It was moving fast with flames about 20 to 30 feet high brushing across the field heading towards to the boat-storage facility,” French said. The fire was put out by 5:30 p.m., and the cause is under investigation. Fire departments from Rowley, Topsfield, Hamilton, Essex, Newbury, Beverly, Newburyport, and Wenham assisted during the fire, French said.
