Man charged after sideswiping police car

MBTA Transit Police arrested a Wilmington man Thursday night after he allegedly sideswiped a parked cruiser in South Boston while driving drunk and without a license, officials said. George Mann, 55, was driving a Ford pickup truck on West Broadway around 7:15 p.m. when he sideswiped a cruiser parked outside of the Broadway MBTA station, Transit Police said in a statement. The Transit officer in the cruiser pursued Mann and pulled him over at the corner of A Street and West Broadway. Mann is charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene, and operating without a license.
