Two nurse’s aides at a Lowell nursing home are facing charges for allegedly posting humiliating videos of patients on social media. Sabrina Costa and Kala Shaniece Lopez, both 23, were released with no bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday to permitting abuse on an elder or disabled person. Prosecutor Tommy Noda said the videos show patients ages 75 to 99 at the Wingate at Belvidere nursing home being humiliated. In one, an 86-year-old patient, dressed but sitting on a commode, is asked by a suspect about her sex life and if she smoked marijuana. Lawyers for the women said they have both been fired. The suspects told police they were joking. (AP)
