Lanes reopen after truck fire on Pike near Allston-Brighton

Two eastbound lanes on the Massachusetts Turnpike have reopened Tuesday near the Allston-Brighton toll plaza after a truck caught fire.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames at one point, leading officials to close two lanes of the highway during the morning commute, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The Boston Fire Department also worked on the incident, officials said. Steve MacDonald, a fire department spokesman, said the blaze began in the engine of a landscaping truck.

There were no injuries in the incident, which happened around 7:50 a.m. Officials reported just before 9 a.m. that the scene had been cleared.
