July 26: About 100 people gather on Deer Island to memorialize the young girl.

Sept. 18: After chasing down hundreds of leads, officials announce that they have charged Michael McCarthy, 35, with murdering 2 ½-year-old Baby Doe, identified as Bella Bond. Authorities also charged Bella’s mother, Rachelle Bond, 40, with being an accessory after the fact.
