Detective: Man used dead dad’s badge to coerce prostitute

A Maine man accused of impersonating a police officer and demanding a woman perform sex acts on him used his dead father’s badge, who was once a police chief, authorities said. Portland police arrested the 57-year-old Lyman man, who was not identified, on Thursday and charged him with gross sexual assault and impersonating a public servant. The Portland Press Herald reported that a detective said the man showed his father’s Cape Elizabeth police badge to a 25-year-old prostitute in September, telling her it was not her lucky day. He allegedly then said he was called out of retirement to work for a special prostitution unit, drove her to a Concord bus station, pulled a pistol out, and demanded she perform a sex act on him. (AP)
