Siblings and parents of current Northeastern University undergraduate students can receive a 25 percent discount on their own tuition starting in the spring.
Northeastern’s president, Joseph E. Aoun, announced the Lifetime Learning Membership on Saturday morning at Parent and Family Weekend. The discounted tuition will apply to more than 100 graduate programs, including online and part-time, according to an e-mail from Renata Nyul, a Northeastern spokeswoman. Parents and siblings must enroll while the student is still attending school full time. However, even if the student graduates, the discount will apply for the duration of graduate study.
While this is the first time that Northeastern has offered discounts to family members of students, it joins Western New England University in Springfield, which offers $1,000 off tuition for siblings who enroll as full-time undergraduate students, according to the school’s website.
