Hopkinton police said they are investigating two separate reports of toilet tank cleaner disks found in children's Halloween candy bags.
Parents of a 14-year-old and a 6-year-old reported the disks on Sunday after inspecting the candy bags, police said in a press release Monday. Neither child consumed the cleaner.
The children were trick-or-treating in the downtown area on Saturday, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
"The people that live here are definitely concerned," said Jen Distasio, a resident who grew up in Hopkinton, and heard about the incident through a Facebook group. Distasio said that she had not heard of anything like this happening before in Hopkinton.

Distasio, 38, has a 13-year-old daughter who went trick-or-treating in the downtown area but the girl did not receive the disks.
"I don't know why someone would do that to children," Distasio said. "It's not a joke, and it's not funny."
