A 29-year-old woman whose body was found dead and burning near MBTA railroad tracks in Bridgewater has been identified as Ashley Bortner of New Jersey, the Plymouth District Attorney’s office said Saturday. Bortner’s body was discovered Tuesday at 11:40 pm., about 100 feet from railroad tracks at Oak and Crapo streets, by police officers who responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle with two occupants parked inside. Bortner’s burning body was discovered on the west side of the tracks. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe the victim was targeted, and the public is not believed to be in danger, the Plymouth DA’s office stated.
