Mayor Martin Walsh and French Consul General Valery Freland observed a moment of silence Tuesday afternoon to honor the victims of the terror attacks in Paris.

The event, which was open to the public, took place on City Hall Plaza at 5 p.m.

The moment of silence was just one of several events that have been held in Boston to offer support to the people of Paris following last week's attack that left at least 129 people dead and hundreds injured.
