Yale mulls dropping house master title

Yale could become the next Ivy League university to part way with the title of "master" for leaders of residential colleges. Harvard and Princeton have announced plans to eliminate the title, whose roots stretch back to the universities of medieval Europe. But some now see the title as evoking slavery. The push for change gained steam amid protests around the country as colleges moved to address student concerns about inclusiveness and the racial climate on campuses.
