A Fort Hood soldier who died last week after a motorcycle accident has been identified as a 21-year-old man from Wareham, US Army officials said.
Specialist Eric Robert Moses died on Dec. 3 from injuries he suffered in the crash in Killeen, Texas, according to a statement released by Fort Hood officials on Tuesday.
Circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation, officials said. The crash happened off the base. Moses's family could not be reached for comment.
Moses entered active duty in October 2013 as an infantryman, according to Fort Hood officials. Since February 2014, he had been assigned to 3rd Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood.
During his time in the service, Moses earned several awards and decorations, officials said. His awards included the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Expert Rifle Marksmanship Qualification Badge.
