The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will hold 10 public meetings through February to gather feedback on its new fare hike proposals.

On Monday, the control board that oversees the MBTA voted to collect input on two proposals that could increase fares and pass prices anywhere from 4 to 23 percent. The proposals would also lower some fares more than 25 percent.

The control board that oversees the MBTA is expected to vote on the increases in March. Officials are required to hold public meetings before fare increases go into effect in July. The meetings on fare hikes will run between Monday, Jan. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 11.

The MBTA has also released an online tool that allows riders to compare their current fare prices to the new proposals, in both English and Spanish. Comments can also be submitted through the tool.
