A 66-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in South Boston, State Police said.
David Procopio, a State Police spokesman, said the victim, a 66-year-old Boston man, was hit around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Old Colony Avenue and Gavin Way and pronounced dead at the scene.
Procopio said the driver, a 38-year-old Stoughton man, remained at the scene and the investigation "will determine whether criminal charges should be sought" against him.
Neither the driver nor the victim were identified on Tuesday night.
