Document: State Senate committee’s marijuana report

A report by a special Senate committee says that if Massachusetts residents legalize recreational marijuana this fall, the state should promptly temper their vote.

The bipartisan analysis comes the same week Governor Charlie Baker, Attorney General Maura Healey, and Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh co-wrote an opinion column against legalizing marijuana in The Boston Globe. The Legislature’s judiciary committee also heard testimony this week on the ballot push.
