No one injured in fire at Hanscom school

A fire broke out at a school at the Hanscom Air Force Base Monday morning, officials said.

Hanscom Middle School is currently under construction and was only occupied by construction workers at the time the blaze broke out, according to a statement released by the public affairs office at the Air Force base.

No one was injured.

The fire was quickly put out, the statement said, and firefighters are now investigating the cause.

Corcord fire department officials said they assisted in putting out the fire.

“Children at both the middle school, who have been attending classes in modular facilities during the construction, and the base primary school are attending classes today, as normal,” the statement said.

It is not yet clear how much damage the fire caused, officials said.
